| Judge's comment | The green gradation of summer. The light that hits the little girl. Obscuring the action of picking the blueberries. The composition of the photographer. The blur in the foreground that creates a sense of transparency. All of it is wonderful. The teamwork of the little girl and the photographer is perfect (child and parent?). I think it’s a wonderful piece created by both the photographer and the model. |

| Judge's comment | This piece looks like a photograph of a painting due to the way the arch frames the park. It’s very tasteful. The arrangement of the trees in the background of the park is symmetric. The solid composition makes the movements of the people in the park stand out. The sharpness of static and dynamic is very impressive. It makes me want to take a closer look at every corner of the photo. |

| Judge's comment | A nice photo of a small memory made on a summer day. A girl looking into the letter slot of a mailbox. You can really feel how the girl is not quite tall enough. The contrast of the dark shadow of the house in the background with the mailbox and the little girl bathed in sunlight in the foreground creates a summery feel. Looking at this picture, the mailbox itself feels somewhat strange and special. |

| Judge's comment | The Anemonopsis marcophylla blooms like a bow. Unlike the images of colorful flowers in summer, this picture feels simple and ephemeral with a bold composition. I really like the cleanliness of this flower. Photographs are very multifceted. The way they are taken and viewed will change depending on how they are captured and what they are intended for. Personally, I think viewers of this photograph will learn about the Anemonopsis marcophylla through this photo. To me, that is the most attractive thing about this photo. |

| Judge's comment | Tamagawa Josui canal, a civil engineering heritage, is in front of a child standing on Usagihashi Bridge. I think it’s interesting that Kodaira’s local charm has been captured in one photo. This scenery is very familiar to Kodaira’s citizens, and has been seen for generations. The child looking at this generations old scenery with fresh eyes is the heart of this photograph. |

| Judge's comment | The vividness of the colors is very eye-catching. Blue sky, refreshing cloud pattern, bright green grass. These make the brick museum even more attractive. I think it’s good to have a both buildings in the shot rather than just one. It is a pleasant photo captured with an ultra-wide-angle lens, which allows you to capture a view wider than passible with the naked eye. |

| Judge's comment | The icon that symbolizes Kodaira: the “round post”. It feels nostalgic and warm and is very picturesque. I feel a sense of familiarity with this picture, which was taken while walking the dog. For Kodaira’s citizens, the round post is something close to everyone, making this photo very easy to relate to. I thought the way the backlight created a gentle atmosphere was quite nice. |

| Judge's comment | The deep green of the trees and the strong sunlight filtering through the trees really captures the heat of midsummer as well as the freshness of the pathway. The feeling of summer is amplified by the runners exerting themselves in the strong sunlight. It looks very hot. At the same time, I wonder if those who live in Kodaira see this image of the Green Road as a midsummer oasis. |

This photo gives a positive impression since the child is walking forward. I did wonder if the poster was avoiding posting the child’s face on Instagram. I think a photo of the child during around would have been the best (if I had been the photographer!) If you have a photo of the child facing the camera, I definitely think you should print it out and hang it up, |

| Judge's comment | The green of the bamboo grove creates a wonderful photo. You can tell that this is a park by the child running in the background. This photo was taken in Takenoko Park. The picture of a beautiful bamboo grove is nice but the beauty of it is the same at every bamboo grove. For this contest, I think this is a great photo because you can momentarily see everyday life in Kodaira through the bamboo grove. |

| Judge's comment | This photo is well-balanced with great composition even while fully capturing the chimney, which is the symbol of the public bath. I think the photographer wonderfully utilized the red of the streetlight banner. The red in the photo is the starting point for viewers, then becomes a focal point for the whole photo. I believe the person who captured this photo regularly takes photos and knows very well how to compose a photo. This is a rule when it comes to taking snapshots. |

I think it’s great how the light was used and how the strong backlighting was handled. It’s a very nice photo. | Judge's comment | Among the award-winning pieces, this is one that made me realize the message photography. On a rainy day without people, Tanabata decoration hang and shops along the street are shuttered closed. Perhaps many who see this picture will think of this year as different. I felt that our current society and the difficult times are sharply captured in this photo. Maybe this was just a casual shot. Regardless, this photo is powerful. A girl with a pink umbrella standing in a T-junction. May there be a bright future ahead of her. This photo really makes you think that. |

Motif: Capture the seasonal beauty of Kodaira during summer and fall
- Announcement of prize-winning Instagram posts: Prize-winning posts will be announced on the competition’s official website, the Ima-Tama homepage, the official Ima-Tama Instagram account, Facebook, and the Kodaira Tourism and Town Promotion Association website.
- Selection of prize-winning posts: The Kodaira Tourism and Town Promotion Association will award gold, silver, and bronze to 14 selected photos.
- Notification of contest winners: After the entry period ends, the Kodaira Tourism and Town Promotion Association will determine the prizewinners by December 7, 2020. Prizewinners will receive a direction message via Instagram no later than December 11, 2020. Failure to reply by the designated date will result in the forfeiture of the prize.
- All applicants need to follow the official Instagram account @imadekakerutama and official Instagram account @kodaira_tourism with the account used to enter the contest.
- Photo(s) must include the hashtag #DiscoverKodaira in the description.
- Any photos posted without the hashtag are ineligible.
- An individual may submit as many photos as desired to the contest within the campaign period but will only be eligible for one prize.
- Minors must obtain the contest of a guardian or parent before posting any photo(s).
- Professional photographers are eligible to enter the contest.
- Photos submitted to the contest, regardless of whether it received a prize or not, may be used by the Kodaira Tourism and Town Promotion Association and/or GOODLIFE TAMA Co., Ltd in magazine ads and other web-based media, or on SMS sites without notifying the poster of the photograph. We kindly ask for your understanding.
- Although the image size is automatically reduced upon uploading a photo to Instagram, the size of the original image should be 2MB or larger. High-definition data will be required as photos selected to win a prize will be featured in a poster presentation.
- After receiving the direct message, please reply within the designated period, which will be specified in the message. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the prize.
- Prizewinners who are not following the Ima-Tama official Instagram account @imadekakerutama and @kodaira_tourism, will be ineligible to receive a prize.
- In the event that a prize is not delivered due to omissions or deficiencies in the address provided by the prizewinner, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.
The prizewinners’ rights for the prize are exclusive to them and cannot be assigned to any third party.
- The prizes can only be sent to addresses within Japan.

- The copyright of the posted photo belongs to its applicant (photographer). We only accept original photos taken by applicants who possess full rights (including copyrights) of the posted photos.
- We only accept photos which have never been published or aren’t intended for future publication. Duplicate entries of a work which has also been submitted to any other competition, or one which resembles any other work will be disqualified.
- Photos which seem to have been shot within restricted zones or no-trespassing zones will be disqualified.
- The consent of individual(s) featured in a photo must be obtained prior to submitting the photo to the contest. In the case that a photo features a minor, his or her parents’ consent is required.
- The organizer will assume no responsibility for any infringement upon the rights of any third party (portrait rights, etc.) associated with the posted photo.
